The Opportunity

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a growing healthcare business based in central London. The company is extremely innovative and dynamic and is expanding all across the UK. They are looking for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join the ever-expanding team to help facilitate their growth. Being a small, yet ambitious company, you will be exposed to all areas of the business, making this a great role for you to broaden your experience within finance.

The Role

You will be exposed to all levels of management while working for this high-growth business. You will be reporting directly to the Management Accountant who has a proven track record of providing development in areas of technical accountancy. This role is responsible for purchase ledger invoice processing, purchase ledger & cashbook payments and bank reconciliations. In addition, your duties include:

Purchases Ledger (90%)

  • Reviewing and matching purchase orders to invoices
  • Processing supplier invoices, coding and distributing for authorization by the relevant manager
  • Preparing supplier payment runs and ensuring that payments are made timely and accurately
  • Responding to supplier enquiries and resolving queries
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Processing inter-company invoices

Cash book payments and bank reconciliation (10%)

  • Processing all transactions from all bank accounts
  • Reviewing and allocating company charge card expenses and petty cash
  • Performing end of month bank reconciliations

The Requirements

Due to the nature of this business, the client is looking for a well-organized individual who shares similar values to the business. Other Key attributes include:

  • Demonstrable experience of purchase ledger processing
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent team-working and interpersonal skills
  • Good relationship building and customer service skills
  • Works to agreed deadlines
