We are looking to recruit a Financial Controller/Director for our client, a biotech business, with investment in place to support the revenue growth of their FMCG product as well as further research & development into clinical trials for their scientific research into other therapeutic areas. They are based in Central London in a small office (22 people) of which 3 are in finance. It is planned that the business will be in a position to take both parts of the business through separate exits (trade sale/IPO) over the next 2-4 years.
The role will suit someone looking for a number one finance role reporting into a CEO. It is likely you will currently be a technically strong and commercially minded Financial Controller/Director with responsibility for all statutory reporting (IFRS), financial management, MI, controls, procedures and systems. A positive style of working, well developed inter personal skills and a natural strength with numbers is key as is your ability to work in an entrepreneurial business environment driving professional standards whilst keeping culture intact. You must also have the charisma and personality to challenge and influence the other key members of the senior management team and Board of Directors (including investors from USA/Russia).
You will be a qualified accountant (from a Top 20 accountancy firm) who has since progressed in industry in various roles so you are now in a position to take on a number one finance role in a company that is on an exciting journey. Biotech/pharma experience is preferable but not essential.
