The Opportunity

I am working exclusively on an exciting Financial Controller for a Private equity backed healthcare business. The client is a fast-growing, independent healthcare company which delivers the highest quality care to highly dependent Adults & Children in the comfort and security of their own homes, throughout London and the Home Counties. Working in partnership with NHS continuing healthcare teams and private teams, our enhanced level of specialist clinical support enables individual clients to remain at home.

The Role

This is a new, high profile position to work with the CFO and Senior Management Team of this Private Equity backed business. Reporting to the CFO, and a member of a small finance team, you will be responsible for the provision of day to day management of the finance function, including

  • Day to day management of the finance function and processes, including payroll, invoicing, credit control, accounts payable, bank and general ledger
  • Overseeing monthly finance timetable, ensuring all reconciliations are completed, and producing monthly consolidated management accounts
  • Management of payrolls, stakeholder pensions, and all employee tax matters
  • Providing financial reports to heads of department and assisting them with the management of their budgets, controlling expenditure to budgeted levels, and proactively identifying profit improvement opportunities
  • Production of daily, weekly and monthly KPIs
  • Work with the Business Team to maintain customer contracts, ensuring all new agreements meet requirements, and to identify where price reviews are required
  • Assist the CFO in preparation of board reports
  • Managing the annual audit process and production of annual consolidated statutory accounts
  • Ensuring company finance policies and procedures are followed
  • Driving process improvement across the department
  • Cash management, driving reductions in debtor days
  • Day to day administration of loan agreements, including interest payments and with-holding tax
  • Assisting with the production of the annual budget and reforecasts
  • Assisting with management of corporation tax compliance
  • Ad hoc analysis and projects

The Requirements

  • Qualified accountant, preferably ACA/CIMA
  • At least 2 years’ experience outside practice
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence both internal stakeholders and customers, to achieve results
  • Health or service sector experience would be an advantage
  • All-round experience in an SME would be an advantage.
