Finatal is partnering with a private equity-backed, multi-site business to appoint a Chief Financial Officer as it enters the next phase of an ambitious buy-and-build growth strategy.

The business currently generates approximately £40m revenue and has established a strong international footprint, with a significant presence across the United States. Backed by an experienced PE investor, the company is targeting growth to £100m revenue within the next 3-4 years, driven through a combination of organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, before pursuing an exit via a trade sale or secondary buyout.

This is a high-impact CFO role offering the opportunity to help shape the strategic direction of the business, professionalise the finance function, and drive value creation through to exit.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and investors, the CFO will:

  • Lead the financial strategy and value creation agenda across the group
  • Partner with the PE sponsor on growth initiatives, acquisitions, integration activities and exit planning
  • Build scalable financial processes, controls and reporting capabilities to support rapid expansion
  • Drive commercial decision-making through robust analysis and performance insight
  • Manage lender, investor and external stakeholder relationships
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team of six
  • Oversee international financial operations, with particular focus on the US business
  • Prepare the organisation for a successful future liquidity event

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an experienced finance leader who combines strategic capability with operational excellence.

Key requirements include:

  • Previous CFO or Finance Director experience within a private equity-backed environment
  • Demonstrable experience supporting buy-and-build strategies, M&A transactions and post-deal integrations
  • Strong understanding of value creation planning and exit readiness
  • Experience managing international operations, ideally including US exposure
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and evolving environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing finance teams
  • Commercially minded, hands-on and comfortable balancing strategic priorities with operational execution

This opportunity would particularly suit a CFO looking to play a central role in a transformative growth journey and ultimately help deliver a successful exit for shareholders.
