We are partnering with a growing professional services business (c.£100mil t.o) in London that is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support the finance function through a key period of growth and change.
This is a hands-on role requiring a technically strong, qualified accountant who can take ownership of financial control, reporting, month-end processes and business partnering with senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, ensuring robust financial controls while providing commercial insight to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Own statutory reporting, audit management and compliance requirements.
- Manage and improve financial controls, processes and governance across the finance function.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide financial analysis and support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow management and working capital reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reporting quality.
- Manage key external relationships including auditors, advisors and banking partners.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- Proven Financial Controller experience within a professional services environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to operate both strategically and in the detail.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
- Experience improving finance processes and controls within a growing business.
- Available to start at short notice or immediately preferred.
