The Opportunity

Finatal is partnered with an exciting, entrepreneurial growth equity fund who are looking to add a new Associate to their dynamic, high-performing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to split time between portfolio management responsibilities and working across new deals. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial awareness, developed financial modelling skills and demonstrable interest in high-growth disruptive businesses in Europe.

Portfolio responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with management teams to monitor performance and execute value-creation initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Partner across a diverse range of operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports, including financial metrics and operational KPIs, in order to identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Support implementation of operational improvements and strategic projects within portfolio companies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with management teams.
  • Remain up to date with market conditions; researching and analyze macroeconomic, sector and thematic developments that may affect the portfolio companies.
  • Help prepare portfolio companies for exit or other liquidity event.

Investment responsibilities

  • Participate in evaluating and executing investment opportunities across Europe.
  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis and due diligence on potential investments.
  • Provide value-added, differentiated investments ideas and make recommendations on potential opportunities.
  • Prepare IC presentations and deal documentation. 

The Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience within Transaction Services, M&A or Consulting.
  • Strong numerical and commercial aptitude.
  • Exceptional academic track record.
  • Highly developed communication skills.
  • Fluency in French or German (ideal). A European language other than English strongly preferred.
