Finatal is partnering with a PE-backed Fintech company that is looking for a Business Analyst to report to the Head of FP&A. They are currently in a growth phase and have a turnover of £150m and an EBITDA of £35m. They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst with a strong foundation in data analytics, as well as a passion for building and enhancing data models and visualisations. This role requires the ability to navigate ambiguity, work in grey areas, and present data findings in clear, actionable terms. Experience with identifying data discrepancies and improving processes is essential.
Although the FP&A team is small, it plays a crucial role within the organisation, working cross-functionally with all departments to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions, support future growth, and enhance profitability. As a Business Analyst, you will have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in data to help shape the company’s financial direction, develop sophisticated financial models, and produce clear, impactful data visualisations to communicate key findings to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
· Support monthly and quarterly deliverables for board reporting
· Enhance and build automated reports and conduct ad hoc analysis
· Partner with the Sales organisation to improve the quality of data and metrics
· Conceptualise, design, and build high-quality business analyses and models using large connected data sets
· Liaise and collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment and data consistency
· Contribute to the development of analytical frameworks, tools, and skills for the team and wider organisation
Requirements
· ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
· Experience using Excel and PowerPoint for reporting
· Demonstrable experience using Power BI and Dataflows with Power Query and DAX
· Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured environment
· Must be extremely collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
· Ability to quickly learn new concepts and products
· Strong attention to detail with the ability to think strategically
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
