Role Overview: 

Finatal is seeking an outstanding CFO for a dynamic, private equity-backed, technology company, with a revenue of £20 million and poised for significant growth through strategic M&A, as they expand into new markets. The CFO will have a unique opportunity to shape the financial strategy and drive the long term success of an exciting, fast growing business.   

The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial leader with a strong background in technology and private equity environments. You’ll work closely with the CEO and stakeholders to support the company’s ambitious growth objectives. You’ll lead the finance function with a focus on optimising profitability, driving financial performance, and ensuring operational efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide strategic financial input to support long-term business objectives. 
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to meet company targets. 
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to drive business performance and decision-making. 
  • Develop comprehensive board packs and provide actionable insights for investors and stakeholders. 
  • Monitor KPIs and deliver regular financial updates to the executive team and board. 
  • Lead financial management of client projects, including rate cards and time & materials contracts. 
  • Optimise pricing strategies, assess growth opportunities, and adjust revenue models for profitability. 
  • Lead M&A activities, including integration and due diligence processes. 
  • Mentor and build a high-performing finance team, ensuring strong financial management across the business. 
  • Lead financial systems improvements and manage ERP system migration  
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for private equity investors, providing regular performance updates. 
  • Manage debt funding arrangements, ensuring compliance with reporting and covenant obligations. 

Key Requirements: 

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience. 
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader within a technology company.   
  • Strong technical ability, with significant experience in financial software and systems, and data analytics.   
  • Significant experience managing and driving SaaS based KPIs.   
  • Experience working in private equity-backed businesses, including investor relations and covenant reporting. 
  • Hands-on experience implementing/ upgrading ERP systems  
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to build and lead a high-performing finance team. 
  • Demonstrated success in M&A integration. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial and technical data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
