The Role:
Our client, a leading, Mid-Market Private Equity fund, is seeking a strong, commercially minded, and technically proficient, Chief Financial Officer to join a Professional Services business based in London, with several international offices. With a current revenue over £100 million, the company is looking for an experienced, commercial CFO, to lead a highly acquisitive buy and build strategy, and to take the company through an exit in the next few years.
The CFO will act as the primary point of contact for private equity investors and work closely with the Board and leadership team to deliver key financial insights for decision-making and business success. The CFO will be integral to the executive team, overseeing all financial functions, strategic direction, and corporate governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Private Equity Relationship Management: The CFO will serve as the main liaison between the company and Private Equity investors, providing timely financial updates and reports to the Board. They will also take the lead in preparing business cases for potential new investments, capital raises, and strategic initiatives to foster growth.
- M&A: The CFO will be responsible for evaluating potential acquisitions, as well as leading Financial due diligence, and integrating successful acquisitions into the larger business.
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Leading the development of the company’s financial strategy, the CFO will ensure it aligns with the company’s broader objectives and growth targets. The CFO will also develop the finance team and will continuously refine financial processes, systems, and workflows to support scalability as the business grows.
- Financial Management & Reporting: The CFO will oversee all financial reporting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. They will also manage forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow processes.
- Operational Efficiency & Risk Management: Ensuring operational efficiency and robust financial controls, the CFO will mitigate financial and operational risks. They will oversee tax planning and financial structuring to optimize the company’s financial position.
Key Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a CFO in a Private Equity-backed business, within Professional Services. They should have a proven ability to manage financial operations for a company with £100m+ in revenue. They must accel at navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong, commercial finance ability, with a background in technical finance is essential, as well as the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for the wider business. The CFO should have expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as leadership skills to influence senior stakeholders.
Experience leading M&A transactions is strongly preferred.
Education:
Candidates must be ACA, ACCA or ACMA qualified.ACA qualification is preferred
Benefits:
Base salary of £250,000, with annual performance-based bonuses and Equity participation.
