Finatal are currently partnering with a PE-backed, high-growth B2B technology business that has scaled rapidly through a buy-and-build strategy following recent investment. The organisation is now entering the next phase of maturity, with a clear mandate to bring structure, governance and scalability to its data and systems landscape.
They’re now looking to hire a Data Architect to define and lead the enterprise data architecture, working across a complex environment of multiple systems, fragmented data models and evolving platform decisions.
Role:
- You will define and deliver the enterprise data architecture strategy, bringing structure to a previously decentralised and fragmented data environment.
- You will design conceptual, logical and physical data models, establishing canonical models and MDM frameworks across core business domains.
- You will map and rationalise multiple systems (CRM, finance, operational platforms), reducing silos and improving data consistency and accessibility.
- You will implement governance frameworks including data lineage, metadata management and impact analysis to support scalable growth.
- You will play a key role in shaping the future data platform, advising on the adoption of technologies such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.
- You will act as a central point of alignment across engineering, BI, finance and operations, ensuring consistent architectural standards and decision-making.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or Enterprise Data Architect within a scaling or complex environment.
- Strong expertise across data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical), canonical models, and Master Data Management.
- Experience implementing governance frameworks including lineage, metadata, and data standards.
- Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to align technical and non-technical teams in an environment with multiple opinions and legacy approaches.
- Experience working across modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, Fabric) and supporting platform selection or implementation.
This is a high-impact, standalone role with significant ownership, suited to someone who enjoys operating in fast-paced, evolving environments and shaping data architecture from the ground up.
