Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Data Governance Lead to take ownership of implementing and operationalising a company-wide data governance framework. This position plays a central role in maintaining the integrity, quality, and accessibility of enterprise data assets, enabling informed decision-making and unlocking business value through better data practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the rollout and continuous refinement of a holistic data governance framework, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and compliance obligations.
  • Drive the development and integration of foundational elements such as master data management (MDM), metadata standards, and data quality principles.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of master data assets, including onboarding new entities, defining authoritative sources, and fostering standardisation across systems. Leverage tools like Informatica to ensure consistency, quality, and integration.
  • Support the function of internal governance councils or steering groups, ensuring collaborative decision-making and structured data oversight.
  • Implement and manage a clear ownership framework to establish accountability across data domains. Provide stakeholders with the necessary training and support to maintain high quality and secure data practices.
  • Define and enforce policies and procedures around data handling, including accessibility, quality control, and lifecycle governance.
  • Work closely with teams across the business to understand data requirements and ensure governance practices are enabling and not restrictive.
  • Design key performance indicators and reporting tools to track the success of governance initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
  • Champion a data stewardship culture by delivering training programs and promoting awareness of governance best practices across the organisation.

Data Quality Management:

  • Ensure data quality principles are embedded into systems and architecture.
  • Provide strategic direction to the Data Quality Analyst in executing initiatives and building lifecycle processes.
  • Lead adoption of a robust data quality framework through business rules, automated checks, and ongoing monitoring to ensure reliability and consistency.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines.
  • Deep knowledge of governance frameworks, metadata standards, and master data management practices.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks such as DAMA.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex data concepts effectively at all levels, including senior executives.
  • Understanding of data-related regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with data management tools and governance platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills to turn strategy into deliverables and measurable results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DGSP).
  • Proven ability to lead governance programs in a dynamic and fast-evolving environment.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Informatica.
