Finatal is exclusively working with an international Tech business within the financial services industry undergoing a major data transformation after a recent investment from a leading PE Fund with €30Bn AUM. With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, the company is building its data governance function to drive operational excellence and deliver actionable insights across key business functions, including finance, sales, marketing, and analytics. The Data Governance Manager will report directly to the Head of Data and play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the company’s data governance framework. This is an exciting opportunity to join at the start of this transformation and shape the future of how data is managed, secured, and utilised across the organisation.

Role:

  • Drive a data governance culture and standard across the organisation including gaining buy-in from Senior leaders and execs, establishing data ownership and governance councils across business functions to ensure compliance with data standards and policies.
  • Design and implement a robust data governance framework and operating model for master and reference data.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to promote a strong data governance culture.
  • Ensure data products meet quality and usability standards throughout their lifecycle, from launch to retirement.
  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement processes and tools for Management Information and Monetizable Data
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data governance and continuously improve processes to enhance data value.
  • Develop strategies for managing data risks and protecting assets, ensuring business continuity.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in implementing data governance programs and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of data management principles, including data quality, classification, and integration
  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Atlan, Collibra, or modern cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Azure, DBT and Fivetran. Knowledge of business systems like Salesforce, NetSuite, and Marketo is a plus.
  • Understanding of Data Governance frameworks Dama-Dmbok and Dcam.
  • Experience with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and developing data policies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience in driving change within complex organisations
