A large global software group is seeking an experienced M&A Manager to support the acquisition and growth of vertical market software businesses across Europe. The role is fully remote within Europe, with regular travel required.
The role
Reporting to the European Head of M&A, you will take a lead role in executing and integrating software acquisitions across the European region. This is a hands-on execution role with significant exposure to senior leadership and portfolio company management with in a large, high-growth software business.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, and preparation of investment materials.
- Run detailed financial analysis and modelling to support investment decisions and assess value creation opportunities.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (finance, legal, tax, HR, operations, technology) and external advisers to deliver transactions on time and to a high standard.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with target company owners, management teams, advisers, and other market participants.
- Provide insight on market dynamics, competitive landscape, and strategic fit of potential targets.
- Support post-acquisition integration planning and tracking of value creation and synergy initiatives.
- Help refine and improve M&A processes, tools, and best practices across the European deal team.
Candidate profile
- You are a driven deal professional who enjoys owning transactions end-to-end and working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment within a highly acquisitive global group.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA, CFA, ACA) is an advantage.
- Approximately 7+ years’ experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or transaction services with a strong record of completed deals.
- Prior tech or software deals experience is essential.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including advanced experience in financial modelling, valuation, and scenario analysis.
- Fluent in English – An additional European language is a plus, but not essential.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
- Based anywhere in Europe, with the flexibility to travel.
