The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to join a dynamic, Private Equity-backed Business Services organisation in London. With a current turnover of £50m, the business is set on an ambitious growth trajectory, aiming to double in size over the next 2-3 years, primarily through M&A activity. With a planned exit in 3-4 years, considering both IPO and secondary buyout options, this role presents a unique opportunity to play a key part in shaping the business’s financial strategy and long-term success.

The Role

Reporting directly to an established CFO, the Finance Director will gain strong exposure to the C-suite while benefiting from mentorship and career development. The role requires a balance of technical and commercial finance expertise, overseeing both the reporting/controls team and the FP&A/business partnering function. The business operates in a complex, entrepreneurial environment, making this an ideal opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.

The Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring strong financial controls and best-in-class reporting processes.
  • Oversee the FP&A team, driving enhanced KPI reporting, commercial contracts, and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with C-suite and senior stakeholders, providing valuable commercial and financial insight.
  • Play a key role in the business’s M&A strategy, including post-deal integration.
  • Establish robust financial planning, analysis, and business partnering to empower better commercial decision-making.
  • Drive the ongoing professionalisation of the finance function, aligning it with Private Equity standards.

The Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong technical and commercial background.
  • Proven team management experience, with the ability to mentor and develop finance professionals.
  • Experience in a Private Equity-backed business, ideally within a B2B environment.
  • Exposure to M&A transactions, particularly with a focus on post-deal integration.
  • Strong expertise in FP&A, commercial finance, and business partnering.
  • Ability to navigate a complex, entrepreneurial business structure, supporting divisional and executive leadership.

This is a unique opportunity for a high-calibre finance professional to step into a leadership role within a fast-growing, PE-backed business. The Finance Director will play a crucial role in driving growth, enhancing financial processes, and positioning the business for a successful exit in the coming years
