A dynamic, venture capital-backed multi-site business, having recently completed a successful Series A funding round, is seeking an ambitious and strategic Finance Director to join the executive team. This is a pivotal role within a fast-growing organisation that is set to scale rapidly through a buy-and-build growth strategy.
Currently operating across 7 domestic sites with a revenue of £5m, the business aims to grow acquisitively to 50 sites within the next 3-5 years, ahead of a potential exit or sale. The Finance Director will be integral to this expansion, offering full autonomy in building and developing the finance function to support the company’s ambitious goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and develop the finance department, providing strategic financial direction and oversight.
· Take full ownership of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
· Ensure strong financial controls and processes are in place as the company grows through acquisitions.
· Support the leadership team in driving operational and financial performance, including the identification and integration of acquisition targets.
· Manage investor relations, reporting to the board and working closely with stakeholders, including venture capital backers.
· Play a critical role in driving business performance towards a successful exit within 3-5 years.
Key Requirements:
· ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.
· Proven experience as a Finance Director, ideally within a private equity or venture capital-backed business.
· Experience in multi-site operations, M&A activity, and managing rapid growth through acquisitions.
· Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence strategic decisions at board level.
· Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a hands-on approach to managing a growing finance function.
· Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on growth and profitability.
