We are partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed professional services group that is undergoing a significant period of growth, transformation and acquisition-led expansion. Having grown the business continues to scale rapidly and has ambitious plans for further UK growth and international expansion, including entry into the US market.

As part of this journey, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Director to work closely with the CFO and wider leadership team. This role combines strategic finance leadership with operational oversight and offers a clear opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the business continues to grow.

The Opportunity

The CFO is currently balancing strategic initiatives, M&A activity and the day-to-day running of the finance function. This appointment is designed to provide additional leadership capacity, helping to drive performance, improve reporting, strengthen financial processes and support the continued integration of acquired businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead the delivery of monthly management information, financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting, forecasting and audit processes.
  • Manage treasury activities, banking relationships, cash flow forecasting and working capital performance.
  • Drive the development of meaningful KPIs to support business performance and decision making.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, governance and reporting processes are maintained across thE group.
  • Support reporting requirements for shareholders, investors and private equity stakeholders.

Commercial Finance & Strategic Support

  • Partner with senior leadership to provide commercial insight and challenge.
  • Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Support the review and execution of acquisitions, including financial analysis and integration activities.
  • Prepare board packs, investor MI and executive-level presentations.
  • Take ownership of key initiatives and support wider business objectives.

Finance Transformation & Data

  • Drive the continued evolution of reporting capabilities through Power BI and automation.
  • Champion the use of AI and technology to improve efficiency, reporting quality and decision support.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives to ensure the function can scale with future growth.

M&A and Growth

  • As a highly acquisitive business, M&A remains a key part of the growth strategy. The successful candidate will play an important role in:
  • Reviewing acquisition opportunities and investment cases.
  • Supporting due diligence and integration activities.
  • Bringing acquired businesses onto a unified operating platform across Finance, HR and Compliance.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially focused finance leader who is looking for a genuine challenge and an opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Director, Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, controls, treasury, cash flow and business performance management.
  • Experience operating within a private equity-backed, high-growth or acquisitive environment.
  • A track record of leading budgeting, forecasting and audit processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at board level.
  • Experience driving reporting improvements, finance transformation and the adoption of technology.
  • Commercially minded with the confidence to challenge, influence and support strategic decision making.
