The Role

Finatal has been retained by a fast-growing, PE-backed healthcare business that is highly acquisitive. This position reports directly to the CFO and involves occasional on-site meetings and due diligence, with the majority of the role being remote.

The Finance Manager will develop, maintain, and take ownership of the Group’s financial control and reporting, in line with established policies and procedures. The role will also involve partnering with subsidiary managers to generate commercial insights that drive the financial performance of the business. Additionally, you’ll provide financial analysis to support the profitable growth of the business through regular and ad hoc reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the month-end reporting process, including full reconciliation and variance analysis at the group, subsidiary, and branch levels, aiming for a 5-day reporting cycle.
  • Deliver monthly management accounts to the required quality and timelines, in collaboration with trading subsidiary finance teams. Outputs will include consolidated and subsidiary-level P&Ls, balance sheets, cash flow statements, KPI reports, and supporting documentation (e.g., revenue recognition, prepayments, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations).
  • Partner with group and subsidiary stakeholders to share financial performance insights, gain commercial understanding, and identify key performance drivers.
  • Develop combined financial, commercial, and operational reporting, including analyses on capacity and resource utilisation, staffing efficiency, average spend, and branch profitability.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the financial reporting platform and oversee its integration with operational systems (eFD).
  • Forecast cash flow and provide regular bank reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to documented operating procedures for financial activities and system usage.
  • Ensure proper audit trails and cooperate with auditors during fieldwork.
  • Lead the production of the annual budget and 5-year forecast update in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Support the CFO to meet audit, tax, and compliance obligations.
  • Provide additional support to the wider finance function to maintain business continuity.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA).
  • Proven ability to influence and lead within a growing finance function.
  • Strong experience in preparing, delivering, and analysing management accounts.
  • Advanced technology skills, particularly with financial reporting platforms.
  • Commercial acumen to identify key drivers and communicate insights to foster profitable growth.
