The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a high-growth, Private Equity-backed SaaS business in London. With £20m ARR and a strong £8m EBITDA, the company is on an ambitious post-carve-out journey, scaling rapidly through both M&A and organic growth.
Reporting directly to a dynamic, high-energy CFO, this role is a unique chance for a strong number two to step into a fast-paced environment, shaping and professionalising the finance function as the business transitions from start-up to scale-up.
The Role
The Financial Controller will take ownership of reporting, controls, and accounting processes, with significant exposure to FP&A, business partnering, and commercial decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing financial reporting, accounting policies, and controls, ensuring compliance with Private Equity standards.
- Managing an outsourced finance function, with plans to bring it in-house and build a best-in-class finance team.
- Partnering with the CFO on financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring to drive strategic growth.
- Working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business, providing commercial insights.
- Leading systems improvements and driving process automation to enhance efficiency and scalability.
The Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong background in controllership and accounting, ideally within a high-growth SaaS or Private Equity-backed business. Additional qualifications include:
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment, with exposure to transformation and professionalisation.
- Strong technical finance expertise, coupled with a commercial mindset and ability to partner with stakeholders.
- FP&A or business partnering experience is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with finance systems and automation is an advantage.
