Finatal is partnered with a Private Equity backed, c.£10m professional services business on an exciting journey of transformation and expansion. They are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to be no.1 in finance, working closely with the CEO and senior leadership. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant commercial impact on the business and play a pivotal role in their future success.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong Finance candidate to take the step into senior leadership, business partnering, strategic decision making and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing strategic insights and acting as a trusted advisor on commercial and financial matters.
  • Performance and Analysis: Deliver best practice management reporting and modelling, offering strategic insights on core growth metrics and presenting financial results with commentary to the senior leadership team.
  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with business stakeholders on monthly performance reviews, sales forecasting, pipeline reviews, customer margin analysis, and pricing decisions to drive commercial success.
  • Financial Planning: Facilitate and support the annual budget preparation and rolling monthly forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Implement and enhance processes and systems to improve financial operations and reporting efficiency.
  • FP&A Strategy: Work with the CFO to develop and execute the FP&A plan, supporting strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
  • Project Support: Provide financial analysis and business case development for strategic initiatives on an ad hoc basis.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with strong academics.
  • Experience working with private equity in preparing management accounts and forecast budgeting
  • Experience working in a professional services business/ technology consultancy sector
  • Proactive mindset with ability to ‘roll sleeves up’ in a hands-on environment with preparing financial accounts, cash flow reporting
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills building trusted relationships with all parts of the business
  • Confidence in challenging senior leaders
  • Experience building a best-in-class finance function in a growing business, with demonstrable leadership skills and experience managing a team
