The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and technically strong Financial Controller to join a high-growth, Private Equity-backed SaaS business headquartered in Greece. Operating on a global scale, the company is well-regarded for its high-quality products and services in the B2B sector. With ambitious growth plans and further investment anticipated in the next 2-3 years, this is a pivotal time to join the business and contribute to its financial transformation.
Reporting directly to an experienced Private Equity CFO, the Financial Controller will play a crucial role in leading the professionalisation and reset of the finance function. The successful candidate will oversee a team of five remote finance professionals and work closely with senior non-finance stakeholders to enhance financial processes, reporting, and controls.
The Role
This is a hands-on role that will span transactional finance (AP/AR), ERP optimisation, financial controls, and commercial finance & FP&A. The Financial Controller will be instrumental in implementing best practices, building robust financial infrastructure, and ensuring the finance function can support the company’s aggressive growth trajectory.
- Lead the transformation and professionalisation of the finance function, ensuring robust controls and efficient processes.
- Oversee all AP/AR, transactional finance, and reporting functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Optimise and enhance ERP systems to improve financial reporting and decision-making.
- Support the CFO with commercial finance and FP&A, contributing to strategic business decisions.
- Partner extensively with senior non-finance stakeholders, ensuring financial insights drive business performance.
- Lead and develop a remote finance team of five, focusing on upskilling, role refinement, and performance improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and internal controls.
The Requirements
- Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), ideally trained in audit or with experience in a Big Four firm.
- Strong technical finance background, with experience in financial controls, reporting, and ERP systems optimisation.
- Demonstrable experience in professionalising finance functions, implementing best practices, and improving efficiencies.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, develop, and refine finance teams.
- Adaptable and entrepreneurial mindset – comfortable shaping and evolving their role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
- Experience in Private Equity-backed or SaaS businesses would be advantageous.
