The Role:

The company seeks a step-up Financial Controller to take charge of day-to-day accounting while serving as a critical bridge between FP&A, M&A, operations, and business managers. Reporting to a dynamic and highly regarded Senior Controller, this role offers a unique blend of technical and commercial finance responsibilities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Financial Controller will lead a small, dedicated team, driving operational excellence and supporting strategic growth initiatives.

  • Oversee and enhance day-to-day financial accounting processes.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, M&A teams, and operational leaders, acting as a business partner to influence and drive key decisions.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Play a pivotal role in the integration of newly acquired businesses within the buy-and-build model.
  • Work directly with non-finance stakeholders and the senior leadership team (SLT) to provide actionable insights.
  • Contribute to both technical accounting and broader commercial finance initiatives, balancing detail and big-picture strategy.

The Requirements:

  • Professional Finance Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong technical accounting foundation.
  • Experience managing/mentoring junior team is essential.
  • Exposure to FP&A, business partnering, and influencing key commercial decisions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Able to deliver results with pace and accuracy, thriving amidst change.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to inspire confidence across teams.
