The Role:

Our client, an established, mid-market, Private Equity fund, is seeking a strong, ambitious, candidate to join a high performing, rapidly growing B2B software business. The FD will support and grow a strong finance function and lead the business to exit in the next few years.

The FD will act as a main point of contact for private equity investors and work closely with the Board and leadership team to deliver key financial insights for decision-making and business success. The FD will be integral to the executive team, overseeing all financial functions, strategic direction, and corporate governance. This role will involve guiding the company’s financial performance, enhancing team capabilities, and contributing to long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive the execution of the business strategy in alignment with growth and exit objectives.
  • Manage and optimize the company’s systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to refine and implement key initiatives across the business as part of the strategic growth plan.
  • Evaluate and play a key role in potential M&A opportunities.
  • Report directly to the CEO and board, providing insights into performance, opportunities, and areas of risk.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with private equity partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment of business goals.
  • Lead by example, building and motivating high-performance teams while fostering a collaborative and innovative company culture.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within a B2B software business.
  • Experience working in private equity-backed businesses, preferably with a focus on scaling, growth, and exit strategies.
  • Strong understanding SaaS based recurring revenue models.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing and mentoring senior teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and work effectively under pressure.

Education:

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Qualification is required for this role
