Finatal are supporting a high-growth B2B technology and professional services business with £80m+ revenue, entering a strategic growth and acquisition phase. Backed by a leading private equity investor, the business has strong market positioning, a mix of recurring and contracted revenues, and a growing international customer base. They are now hiring a commercially-minded Finance Director to help scale the finance function, support acquisitions, and drive strategic decision-making within a private equity environment.
The Role
This is a business-critical finance leadership role focused on scaling operations, strengthening financial controls, and supporting both organic and acquisitive growth. Working closely with the CFO, Executive Team, and private equity stakeholders, you will shape financial strategy, implement scalable systems, and provide actionable insight across multiple business units and geographies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with the CFO, leadership team, and investors on growth strategy, business planning, and M&A integration.
- Overseeing forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and scenario modelling across multi-entity operations.
- Driving automation of finance processes, improving efficiency, and enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Building and scaling the finance function, including FP&A, operational finance, and financial control.
- Leading performance analysis across both technology and professional services revenue streams, including utilisation, margin, and project profitability alongside recurring revenue metrics.
- Supporting acquisitions, including financial due diligence, integration of new entities, and system migration.
- Providing strategic financial insights to the executive team, Board, and investors, including investment appraisal and capital allocation decisions.
- Ensuring robust governance, compliance, and reporting standards across all markets.
About You
You are an experienced finance leader who thrives in high-growth, private equity-backed technology or tech-enabled services businesses. You combine operational rigour with commercial insight and can influence at executive, Board, and investor level.
Ideal profile:
- Extensive experience operating within private equity-backed businesses, working closely with investors and Boards.
- Track record of supporting or delivering a successful private equity exit (sale, secondary buyout, or recapitalisation).
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or professional services environments, ideally with recurring or contracted revenue models.
- Track record of scaling finance functions in high-growth or acquisitive businesses.
- Strong understanding of services economics, including utilisation, delivery margin, and project profitability, alongside recurring revenue performance metrics.
- Hands-on experience implementing financial systems (NetSuite, ERP, or similar) and automating processes.
- Comfortable leading M&A financial integration, including due diligence, system migration, and post-acquisition reporting.
- Confident business partner capable of influencing at C-suite, Board, and investor level.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute operationally.
