Company Overview

Our client is a fast-growing energy services provider at the forefront of Germany’s decarbonisation journey. Following its acquisition by a leading global private equity fund, the company is entering a new phase of transformation and growth.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, build-and-transform mandate for a CFO ready to professionalise and scale the finance organisation in a high-growth, PE-backed environment. You’ll take full ownership of finance operations shaping a lean setup into a data-driven, investor-grade platform that enables rapid decision-making, operational excellence, and value creation.

Key Mandate

  • Stabilise and professionalise core accounting, reporting, and cash processes in partnership with external advisors.
  • Deliver speed, control, and accuracy in monthly closings, compliance (HGB/IFRS), and management reporting.
  • Build and lead a capable finance team and embed KPI-driven performance management.
  • Digitise and automate processes across billing, controlling, and forecasting to create transparency and scalability.
  • Drive integration and transformation through post-merger activities, treasury setup, and system improvements.
  • Partner with the CEO and investors on business cases, M&A, and long-term value creation initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

Within 12 months, finance will operate as a reliable, fast, and insight-driven function delivering clean audits, timely reporting, and clear cash visibility. Within 18 months, you’ll have built a scalable finance infrastructure underpinning growth and future transactions positioning the business for its next phase of expansion and exit readiness.

Candidate Profile

  • Accounting-qualified (CPA, Wirtschaftsprüfer, or equivalent) with strong HGB/IFRS knowledge.
  • Proven track record building or transforming finance functions in PE-backed or M&A-driven environments.
  • Highly hands-on and execution-focused, yet capable of shaping finance as a strategic partner.

Sector background in energy, infrastructure, or technical services beneficial but not essential.
