Finatal is partnering with a high-growth, investor-backed FinTech business to appoint a Finance Director. This is a pivotal hire, sitting directly below an experienced COO, with significant exposure to investors and the Board.

The business operates in a regulated environment and has built a strong SaaS-led commercial model, creating a unique opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to shape the next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

This role offers full ownership of the finance function, with a particular focus on FP&A and commercial finance, while overseeing a strong Group Financial Controller responsible for day-to-day financial reporting and controls.

You will act as a key partner to the COO, providing insight, challenge, and strategic input at both executive and board level. This is a high-impact role for someone who is equally comfortable operating hands-on and influencing at the most senior levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the finance function, driving performance and scalability
  • Partner with the CFO on strategy, planning, and investor engagement
  • Lead all FP&A activity, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling
  • Develop and optimise SaaS KPIs (ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, etc.) to drive commercial decision-making
  • Act as a key interface with investors and the Board, presenting insights and challenging assumptions
  • Support fundraising, strategic initiatives, and long-term planning
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the finance team, including an established Group Financial Controller
  • Ensure appropriate governance and compliance within an FCA-regulated environment

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a commercially focused, high-calibre finance leader with the gravitas to operate effectively in a fast-paced, investor-led environment.

Key requirements include:

  • Proven experience within a FinTech or FCA-regulated business
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models and KPIs
  • Demonstrable track record in FP&A and commercial finance leadership
  • Experience engaging with investors and presenting at board level
  • The ability to provide both strategic insight and hands-on execution
  • Strong leadership credentials, with experience managing and developing finance teams
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, resilience, and ambition
