The Opportunity
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ambitious FP&A Manager to join a dynamic, high-growth Private Equity-backed SaaS business. With a turnover of circa £100m, 30%+ EBITDA, and an aggressive growth strategy combining M&A and organic expansion, this business is on a defined trajectory towards a high value exit within the next 2-3 years.
This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to an established Private Equity CFO, leading the FP&A function, and managing a small team. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and enhancing the company’s financial planning capabilities.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Private Equity CFO and working closely alongside an experienced PE Finance Director and Group Financial Controller, the Head of FP&A will play a pivotal role in driving financial insight and strategic decision-making across the business. This is a newly created role, requiring a highly capable finance leader to build the FP&A function from the ground up and establish a team (1-3 analysts) in short order.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the FP&A function, providing robust financial insight and analysis to support key business decisions.
- Manage and mentor a small team, ensuring best-in-class financial planning, reporting, and forecasting.
- Work closely with the Private Equity CFO, gaining hands-on exposure to high-level strategic finance and M&A activity.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive commercial performance and business expansion
- Own the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with the business’s aggressive growth plans.
- Provide detailed financial modelling and scenario analysis to support investment decisions and market expansion.
- Support M&A activity, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and synergy assessments.
- Partner with key stakeholders across the business to provide actionable insights and drive efficiency.
The Requirements
- A qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong FP&A expertise.
- Proven experience in a SaaS, technology, or tech-enabled business – Private Equity exposure is highly desirable.
- Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills, with the ability to translate data into strategic insight.
- Experience in managing a small team and leading an FP&A function.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills, capable of working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A highly commercial mindset, with the ability to challenge, influence, and drive strategic initiatives.
