The Opportunity:

Finatal is partnering with a dynamic and rapidly growing Private Equity-backed global software business with a current turnover of around £30 million, on an ambitious trajectory to reach £80 million in the next 2-3 years. Positioned for an eventual exit, the business is driven by innovation and a commitment to excellence in their field. The business is well-established and over the years has built a firm reputation of being an industry leader and the gold standard for these solutions.

We are now seeking a talented and experienced FP&A Manager to join the London office as a first FP&A hire, reporting directly to our commercially driven and highly experienced CFO.

The Role:

As the FP&A Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our Financial Planning & Analysis function, responsible for building this critical function from the ground up. You will lead all FP&A activities, driving new business partnering processes, leading the implementation of Power BI, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making across the business. You will partner with the Senior Leadership Team, the Private Equity board, and international unit heads to empower key commercial decisions, ensuring the financial strategy aligns with our aggressive growth plans.

  • Build and Lead FP&A Function: Establish and develop the FP&A function, creating robust financial models, forecasts, and analytical frameworks to drive business growth.
  • Business Partnering: Engage closely with the Senior Leadership Team and international business unit heads to provide financial insights that influence commercial strategy.
  • Drive Change: Implement and optimize FP&A processes, ensuring they support a high-growth, data-driven environment.
  • Data Implementation: Lead the implementation of Power BI, enhancing our data analytics capabilities and reporting processes.
  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Provide financial analysis to support key business decisions, including M&A activity, capital allocation, and performance tracking.
  • Team Development: As the business grows, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a team, expanding the FP&A function in line with the company’s needs.

The Requirements:

  • Professional Finance Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • FP&A Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading FP&A processes, ideally as a first-time FP&A hire, with a track record of driving change.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with experience in implementing and optimizing data-driven tools like Power BI.
  • Software/SaaS Industry Experience: Previous experience in the software/SaaS industry is a significant advantage.
  • Private Equity Experience: Experience in a Private Equity-backed, high-growth, or change-driven environment is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders across the business.
