The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a dynamic, private equity-backed hospitality business boasting a £150m turnover and 100+ sites. Operating in a highly acquisitive and exit-driven environment, this role will play a critical part in shaping the future growth and success of the business.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will lead a talented finance team, driving strategic growth and operational efficiency across the organisation. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to a business undergoing significant restructuring and gearing for growth, supporting refinancing processes and fundraising efforts while maintaining robust financial control.

This is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position. The successful candidate will be required to start no later than January 2025, making this an ideal opportunity for someone immediately available or ready to start in the New Year.

  • Leadership: Manage and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Strategic Financial Management: Partner with the CFO to drive financial strategy and support the business in achieving its ambitious growth objectives.
  • Refinancing and Fundraising: Support refinancing processes and lead on raising funds to enable further expansion.
  • Restructuring: Implement and oversee structural changes to ensure the business is positioned for long-term success.
  • Financial Control and Reporting: Maintain strong financial governance, oversee monthly reporting, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

The Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced, growth-driven organisation. They will bring:
  • Experience in private equity-backed environments or similarly dynamic, acquisitive businesses.
  • A track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Hands-on experience with refinancing, fundraising, and managing business restructuring.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Availability to commence the role in January 2025 at the latest (immediate availability is advantageous).
  • Experience in a hospitality/multisite leisure background a huge advantage
