Overview
A Private Equity fund with offices in Munich and Frankfurt is seeking a Finance Controller / Manager to join its growing team. The firm focuses on mid-sized companies across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and is deploying capital from a recently launched fund backed by a diverse group of over 100 experienced executives, entrepreneurs, and family offices.
Founded in 2022, the firm has a clear vision to become a leading player in the mid-market space through a hands-on, interdisciplinary value-creation approach. Over the last two years, the team has grown to nearly ten professionals, each bringing strong sector knowledge and a shared passion for supporting business success in the Mittelstand.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversight and management of all financial processes across the management company and fund structures
- Support in the preparation of annual financial statements in collaboration with external tax advisors and fund administrators
- Ensure compliance with reporting standards (HGB) and audit requirements (including AML regulations) and support audit processes.
- Shared responsibility for contract management, invoicing, and receivables
- Assist with payroll and general HR-related tasks.
- Support cash flow planning for the management company.
- Maintain BaFin-compliant process documentation.
- Act as a point of contact for tax advisors, auditors, and occasionally investors.
- Assist deal teams during acquisitions and asset sales.
- Document investment decisions
- Support capital calls and distributions to investors alongside the fund administrator
- Prepare investor reporting materials and portfolio valuations in line with IPEV guidelines.
- Coordinate and contribute to ESG reporting.
- Support compliance topics, including KYC and AML requirements
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in audit, tax, finance advisory, or within a private equity firm or financial investor
- Degree in business administration or a related field, ideally with a focus on finance and/or accounting
- Strong knowledge of HGB accounting standards and a sound understanding of German tax principles
- High level of numeracy and analytical ability
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently
- Professional handling of confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
