We are partnering with a globally operating, private equity-backed business undergoing an exciting period of transformation and growth. Following a major international merger, the organisation is building a best-in-class global finance function to support its next phase of expansion.
As a result, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially minded Group Finance Director to join the leadership team, reporting directly to the CFO.
This is a high-impact role with responsibility for global controllership, treasury, tax, reporting, and finance transformation across a complex multi-jurisdictional organisation.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to shape and modernise the finance function of an international business operating across multiple regions and entities. The successful candidate will lead technical finance operations while driving automation, AI adoption, process improvement, and post-merger integration initiatives.
You will play a critical role in strengthening controls, improving reporting quality, enhancing cash and treasury management, and building scalable finance infrastructure fit for long-term growth.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Control
- Lead the global month-end close and consolidated reporting process
- Oversee statutory reporting and regulatory compliance across international jurisdictions
- Manage group audit activity and external auditor relationships
- Ensure robust balance sheet governance and reconciliations
- Maintain accounting policies, technical accounting standards, and reporting frameworks
- Develop and strengthen internal controls, governance, and finance policies across the group
Cashflow, Treasury and Tax
- Oversee global treasury operations, banking relationships, liquidity, and FX management
- Drive improvements in cash forecasting, working capital, and funding structures
- Lead global tax compliance, transfer pricing, and tax planning activity
- Partner with advisors and regional teams to manage tax risk and regulatory requirements
Transformation & Leadership
- Lead finance transformation initiatives already underway across systems, processes, and teams
- Champion AI, automation, and process optimisation within the finance function
- Build and develop high-performing international finance teams
- Partner with senior stakeholders across finance, operations, and executive leadership
- Support the wider organisation through ongoing integration and change activity
You will ideally bring:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
- Significant senior-level controllership or group finance leadership experience
- Strong technical accounting and reporting expertise within complex international organisations
- Exposure to treasury, tax, and multi-entity operations
- Proven experience delivering finance transformation and process improvement programmes
- Experience within PE-backed, high-growth, or post-merger environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
- Exposure to ERP transformation, automation, or AI-enabled finance processes would be highly advantageous
