The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Group Financial Controller to join a dynamic, high-growth Private Equity-backed logistics business based in London. With an impressive turnover of c.£15m, 40% EBITDA, and an ambitious strategy for expansion through both M&A and organic growth, this business is on a clear upwards trajectory.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the finance function is operating at a best-in-class level, aligned with Private Equity standards. This role requires strong leadership, with responsibility for managing and developing a team of four subordinates in finance. The successful candidate will be expected to drive financial excellence, oversee reporting, controls, and processes, and support the ongoing professionalisation of the business.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring robust financial control and reporting processes.
  • Work closely with C-suite and senior non-finance stakeholders, providing strategic insight and financial expertise to drive decision-making.
  • Support the business in scaling operations, implementing efficiencies, and optimising ERP systems (SAGE 200)
  • Drive the development of PE-standard financial reporting, controls, and governance.
  • Play an integral role in supporting M&A activity, including financial due diligence and integration.

The Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation.
  • Proven experience in a high-growth business, ideally within the logistics/ facilities services sector
  • Experience leading and developing a finance team, with a focus on continuous improvement and professionalisation.
  • Private Equity experience, with a strong understanding of PE reporting and governance standards.
  • Ability to lead on integration plans, driving process development and potential exposure to acquisition accounting
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels.
