Finatal is partnering with a c.£400m revenue, private equity-backed, highly acquisitive global technology services group entering the final stage of its investment cycle, with a planned exit in the next 18–24 months. With significant M&A activity, ongoing transformation, and increasing investor scrutiny, the business is seeking a high-calibre Group Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in driving financial control, governance, and readiness for transaction.
Reporting to the CFO, this role will act as the number two in finance, leading the global finance function across multiple regions and taking ownership of group reporting, controls, and technical accounting in a complex, multi-entity environment.
Requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent), ideally trained within a Big 4 or Top 10 practice.
- Significant post-qualification experience within private equity-backed, acquisitive, or international businesses.
- Proven experience managing large, complex multi-entity groups (30+ entities) with significant intercompany, treasury, and transfer pricing exposure.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including IFRS reporting and business combination accounting (M&A).
- Demonstrated experience leading large, international finance teams, including regional controllers and shared service centres.
- Experience driving process improvement, controls enhancement, and audit readiness in a PE environment.
- NetSuite experience essential (ideally super user), with strong systems and reporting capability.
- Strong stakeholder management with experience working closely with auditors, advisors, and investors.
- Prior exposure to offshoring, shared services, or global finance transformation highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the group finance function for a global, PE-backed business, overseeing consolidation, reporting, and financial governance across c.40+ entities – must have international entity experience
- Own the group consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting under IFRS.
- Act as the primary point of contact for group auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders, leading the audit process end-to-end.
- Take ownership of technical accounting, including complex areas such as business combinations, intercompany structures, and revenue recognition.
- Oversee tax and treasury operations, ensuring effective management of risk, cash, and global funding structures.
- Provide direct line management to the Group Finance team and 4 regional Financial Controllers (across 4 countries), with broader oversight of a c.50-person shared service centre in India.
- Drive continued process improvement across month-end, year-end, audit, and reporting cycles, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Enhance and embed robust controls across intercompany accounting, FX, and global transactions.
- Optimise use of NetSuite ERP, improving reporting capability, automation, and data integrity (must be Netsuite super user)
- Act as a key escalation point for complex or atypical transactions, resolving issues across the group.
- Support delivery of board and investor reporting, working closely with the CFO and private equity stakeholders through to exit.
