A private equity-backed manufacturing business is seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking, and commercially savvy Group IT Director to lead the IT transformation. This pivotal role will drive business growth, enhance competitive advantage, and ensure operational excellence by establishing a robust data warehouse, consolidating existing data processes, and streamlining a lean IT team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing the company for a private equity exit within 2-3 years, focusing on delivering measurable ROI and aligning technology strategies with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- A pragmatic and commercially astute leader focused on evolving the business
- Design and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the organisations growth plans, including future acquisitions and digital transformation efforts
- Lead and develop a small, high-performing IT team of 3
- Ensure the scalability, security, and efficiency of all technology systems and infrastructure
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen by proposing initiatives with clear and measurable ROI
- Act as a key leader and advocate for change during the company’s digital transformation
- Deliver world-class IT operations, leveraging third-party vendors while taking full accountability for networking, infrastructure, and security
- Expand and strengthen the IT team as needed, fostering a lean and effective workforce
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring efficient license management and cost control
- Take ownership of Data Management, including Master Data Management, to enable the business to harness data and insights effectively
- Manage and influence senior stakeholders, including board members, with clear communication and strategic insights
Key Experience:
- Experience as an IT leader – CIO, IT Director, Head of IT
- Exposure to digital transformation and data projects
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
- A forward-thinking leader with a passion for leveraging technology to drive business transformation
- Solid experience in ERP and CRM functions (SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, Salesforce) and building scalable platforms and integrating existing platforms
- Capable of getting hands-on to develop solutions or delve into the details when necessary, while seamlessly transitioning to a commercial and strategic perspective
