Overview:

As Group Leader Accounting for the German market, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and compliant finance operations and margin assurance within the local market. You will oversee all accounting-related management and statutory reporting requirements, ensuring adherence to IFRS, HGB, and tax regulations, while leading the German accounting team within an international context.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage finance operations and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and legal requirements (GoB/GoBS, IFRS, HGB, tax law).
  • Own risk and control systems, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for the German entity.
  • Coordinate billing and accounting tasks with Shared Service Centers and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Lead and develop the local FinOps team, while driving process and system standardization across multiple markets within a Hub & Spoke model.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, business plans, and KPIs.
  • Advise the Head of Finance and top management with actionable insights and improvement recommendations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for accounting and tax-related queries within the German market and for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Manage local and international projects focusing on process optimization and system enhancements, particularly within SAP S4/HANA.
  • Foster a motivating leadership style that drives team development and aligns with corporate strategy.

Your Profile:

  • Several years of leadership experience in accounting or finance, ideally in an international environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, HGB, and German tax regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially SAP S4/HANA, and digital process transformation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and quality-focused work approach.
