The Opportunity:
Finatal is partnering with a thriving Private Equity-backed international consumer services business on a search for a Head of Billing to spearhead the transformation and optimisation of its global billing function. With a turnover exceeding £180m, a 30%+ EBITDA, and an aggressive acquisition strategy, the organisation is poised for significant growth and a potential exit or listing within the next 2-3 years.
The business is recognised globally, operating in 25 countries, dealing with 100k customers directly. A complex billing environment, critical to the broader business success. After significant growth the last 10 years, the billing function requires a reset and a professional to spearhead a professionalisation to raise to Private Equity standards on an international stage.
The Role:
Reporting to the Regional CFO, the Head of Billing will play a pivotal role in ensuring the billing department operates at peak efficiency. This high-impact position requires a strategic leader to:
- Conduct a comprehensive review of current billing processes, identifying inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement best-in-class billing processes, aligning with industry-leading standards.
- Refine and enhance team performance, ensuring optimal resourcing and productivity.
- Collaborate with senior finance leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate and optimise systems and processes.
- Take ownership of customer billing issues, driving resolution and delivering exceptional service levels.
- Lead the implementation of systems improvements and governance frameworks to enhance accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Provide hands-on support for contract-to-collection workflows, ensuring seamless operations.
The Requirements:
The successful candidate will be a qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a proven track record of managing high-performing billing teams in complex, international environments. They will possess:
- Extensive experience in billing, governance, and contract-to-collection processes.
- A strong capability in process improvement and systems optimisation.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel to European entities 3–4 times per year.
