We’re partnering with a lean, 15m T/O, founder-led business operating across 12 European capital cities, with an ambitious expansion plan to scale quickly to a 140m T/O business, with private equity investment knocking on the door.
This is a broad, hands-on, mixed technical/commercial Head of Finance role in a fast-growing multi-site environment. It offers the opportunity to work directly with the CFO, helping shape the finance function through the next phase of scale, profitability improvement, and private equity readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Finance & Performance
- Own and improve weekly sales and trading reporting .
- Build out meaningful store-level KPIs and commercial dashboards .
- Analyse trends.
- Partner with leadership on pricing decisions, promotions, and supplier negotiations.
- Drive initiatives focused on EBITDA margin improvement.
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting.
- Support site opening economics and new store investment cases.
- Model growth scenarios tied to the European rollout plan.
- Develop cash and EBITDA forecasting as the business scales.
Financial Control & Governance
- Maintain robust balance sheet control.
- Oversee monthly management accounts produced by outsourced providers.
- Ensure integrity of AP / AR controls and reconciliations.
- Support statutory and audit processes where required.
- Own banking, treasury and cash governance across a multi-site structure.
Growth & PE Readiness
- Help strengthen the finance function ahead of likely private equity involvement.
- Improve reporting packs, data integrity and lender confidence.
- Support bank financing processes and covenant reporting.
- Build scalable finance processes that can support rapid site growth.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Improve workflows across Xero and outsourced reporting.
- Introduce AI and automation tools to simplify reporting and reduce manual work.
- Create pragmatic, scalable processes suitable for a lean team.
Ideal Profile
We’re open on qualification background:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a multi-site structure, bonus if in a consumer business.
- Strong grasp of forecasting and budgeting.
- Comfortable in a lean, founder-led setup.
- Strong commercial instinct.
- Comfortable working closely with CFO and CEO
