Finatal is partnered with a PE-backed multisite dental business, seeking an experienced Head of Finance to support the CFO and take responsibility for the operational running of the finance function.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CFO to oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance departments in the UK and India.
- Ensure full compliance of the finance function with legislative and regulatory requirements, including corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
- Facilitate the seamless onboarding and integration of new acquisitions by the finance team, ensuring timely execution.
- Conduct due diligence for acquisitions, identifying potential risks and concerns, and ensure the finance team is well-prepared for onboarding and integration.
- Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting in line with EDG deadlines, ensuring all balance sheets are fully reconciled.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process to meet both operational and EDG reporting needs with the required level of detail.
- Lead system improvement initiatives, including upgrades to the finance system, purchase software, payroll systems, and practice management software.
- Escalate significant risks, issues, and opportunities to the CFO for strategic resolution.
- Enhance financial reporting processes, including the preparation of monthly reports and weekly KPI updates, with thorough analysis of financial performance and operational KPIs.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity in each entity for meeting financial obligations.
- Maintain and oversee the Group’s risk management register, coordinating with all functions to ensure it remains complete and up to date.
- Oversee and deliver finance training programs for project managers and partners.
- Ensure financial policies and procedures are documented, regularly updated, and effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, identifying opportunities for growth, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Assist in analysing potential acquisitions and contribute to defining the strategic direction of the Group.
Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in managing a large finance team within a multi-site business.
- Strong commercial acumen and business insight.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation abilities.
- Exceptional leadership skills with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication capabilities.
