Finatal is partnered with a Private Equity-backed software group that has scaled rapidly through acquisitions across multiple European markets. The business currently generates c. €60M ARR and c. €30M EBITDA, employing over 400 FTEs across five countries.

Following a period of significant M&A-led growth, the company is entering a critical phase of integration and transformation. The focus has now shifted toward operational maturity, systems harmonisation, and the transition from project- and services-led revenues to a more scalable, SaaS-oriented recurring revenue model.

The Role:

This is a high-impact Interim CFO mandate focused on stabilising and transforming the finance function during a period of operational and systems evolution. Acting as a strategic partner to the CEO, sponsors, and leadership team, you will bring structure, visibility, and governance to a complex, multi-entity environment.

We need a hands-on, transformation-oriented CFO who can deliver both strategic leadership and operational execution across finance, systems, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnering:

  • Act as the primary financial partner to the CEO and Private Equity sponsors, supporting strategic decision-making and business transformation.
  • Provide financial leadership across a complex, multi-entity, international organisation undergoing integration and change.
  • Support the transition toward a recurring revenue SaaS model by improving commercial visibility and financial alignment.
  • Partner closely with operational and commercial leaders to embed financial discipline across the organisation.

Finance Transformation & Governance:

  • Stabilise and strengthen finance controls, governance frameworks, and reporting accuracy across acquired entities.
  • Improve month-end processes, ownership structures, and reporting cadence to deliver consistent, sponsor-grade financial information.
  • Standardise finance processes and operating rhythms, eliminating inefficiencies created through historical acquisitions.
  • Enhance audit readiness and overall financial transparency across the Group.

Systems & Consolidation Infrastructure:

  • Support the implementation and optimisation of finance systems, including consolidation and FP&A tooling.
  • Drive greater consistency in data, reporting structures, and forecasting across multiple entities and legacy systems.
  • Partner with internal and external transformation resources to advance ERP harmonisation and automation initiatives.
  • Build a more unified, scalable finance infrastructure capable of supporting ongoing growth.

SaaS / Subscription Revenue Transformation:

  • Improve subscription and contract management processes to support the shift toward recurring revenue models.
  • Enhance visibility and reporting across ARR, renewals, revenue quality, and commercial forecasting.
  • Introduce KPI frameworks aligned to SaaS metrics and scalable revenue operations (RevOps).
  • Support the transition from project-based/service revenues toward a more predictable, subscription-led model.

FP&A & Performance Visibility:

  • Strengthen budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning capabilities across the Group.
  • Introduce more robust KPI tracking and performance management frameworks tied to operational and commercial drivers.
  • Improve management reporting to enable actionable insights and decision-making at both executive and operational levels.
  • Drive greater visibility across business performance and financial levers.

Key Requirements:

  • Transformation Experience: Proven track record as an Interim CFO (or equivalent) leading finance transformation in Private Equity-backed environments.
  • Sector Expertise: Experience within industrial software, operational technology, SaaS, or businesses transitioning from services to subscription models.
  • Multi-Entity Complexity: Strong background operating across international, multi-entity organisations with legacy systems and fragmented processes.
