About Us:
Finatal is working with a high-growth, private equity-backed business with a turnover of £400m, now preparing for a strategic exit. As the company transitions towards this significant milestone, they are seeking someone with vast exit support experience to lead the financial operations, enhance value creation, and ensure smooth navigation through the exit process.
Role Overview:
The Interim Finance Director will be instrumental in preparing the £400m turnover business for a successful exit. This involves managing financial reporting, optimizing internal controls, and supporting strategic initiatives that will maximize the company’s value to potential buyers. You will collaborate closely with senior management, private equity stakeholders, and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exit Strategy Support: Lead all financial aspects of the business’s exit, including detailed financial due diligence, preparing financial models, and supporting negotiations with potential acquirers.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial statements are presented to stakeholders, aligning the business with the expectations of potential buyers and investors.
- Value Creation: Work with senior management and private equity partners to identify and drive value-creating initiatives to make the business more attractive during the sale process.
- Due Diligence Preparation: Lead the preparation of detailed financial documentation for buyer scrutiny, ensuring full transparency and compliance with exit requirements.
- Internal Controls: Strengthen and streamline financial processes, ensuring robust internal controls and a solid financial foundation to maximize buyer confidence.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital: Oversee cash flow and working capital management to ensure the business maintains optimal financial health during the transaction period.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring they are equipped to meet the complex demands of the exit process and maintain high performance.
- External Coordination: Liaise closely with external advisors (legal, tax, and financial) to ensure smooth collaboration during the due diligence and negotiation phases.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) ACA preferred
- Exit Experience: Proven experience leading businesses through successful exits, particularly in the £100m-£500m turnover range, ideally within private equity-backed companies.
- Financial Leadership: Strong expertise in financial modeling, due diligence, and working with complex financial structures.
- Strategic Insight: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, offering insights and recommendations to enhance company valuation during an exit.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record in managing a finance team and collaborating with senior management and external stakeholders.
- Private Equity Experience: Extensive experience working in private equity-backed businesses, with a strong understanding of exit processes, value optimization, and stakeholder management.
