We are partnering with a London-based business that is preparing for a potential exit and carve-out as part of an exciting strategic transaction. To support this process, the company is seeking a Big 4 qualified Interim Finance Consultant to join the team on a 12-month contract.
This role will work closely with senior leadership and investors, playing a key role in preparing the finance function for separation and ensuring the business is well positioned through the transaction process. The position offers broad exposure across the finance function and will suit someone who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the finance team through a potential exit and carve-out process, ensuring financial information and reporting are transaction-ready.
- Assist in preparing carve-out financials and separation planning, including establishing standalone financial structures where required.
- Work across multiple aspects of the finance function including financial reporting, FP&A, controls, and process improvements.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support senior leadership through the transaction process.
- Support the preparation of management reporting, board packs, and investor materials.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors including investors, bankers, and transaction advisers.
Key Requirements
- Big 4 trained and qualified accountant (ACA preferred).
- Strong technical finance background with experience in financial reporting, audit, transaction services, or deal advisory.
- Experience working on transactions, carve-outs, or exit processes.
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a finance function.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with senior leadership and external advisers.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in private equity-backed businesses.
- Exposure to finance transformation or post-transaction integration/separation projects.
- Previous interim or consulting experience within a corporate finance or finance transformation environment.
