About the Company:
Finatal is working with an international private education business, backed by a leading Private Equity firm, with operations spanning multiple countries. As the company continues to expand, they are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide maternity cover for an initial period of six months, based in Italy. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and growing organisation within the education sector.
Role Overview:
As the Interim Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing the financial operations for the Italian division during the maternity leave period. You will ensure smooth financial reporting, compliance, and budgeting, and provide critical support to the senior leadership team. This role requires someone with strong international finance experience, ideally within a private equity-backed or multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the financial management function for the Italian operations, including month-end reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to meet corporate deadlines.
- Support senior leadership with financial insights and analysis to aid in decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with the global finance team to align local operations with the broader business objectives.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance metrics.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the local finance team, ensuring continuity and maintaining high performance.
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects and reporting as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, ideally within an international, PE-backed, or education-focused organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Italian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Experience working in a multinational environment, with familiarity in dealing with multiple currencies and entities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
