Finatal is recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join a rapidly growing multi-site retail business, backed by a lower mid-market private equity fund. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a highly acquisitive business with multiple acquisitions in the pipeline.

This role is ideal for a commercially astute finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is eager to work closely with senior leadership, investors, and operational teams to drive performance and value creation.

Role Overview

As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in analysing financial data, supporting acquisitions, and driving strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for financial modelling, KPI analysis, and investment appraisals to ensure the business continues its strong growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Provide detailed financial analysis, tracking key business performance indicators and identifying trends across multiple sites.
  • Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and investment decisions.
  • M&A Support: Assist with financial due diligence, investment appraisals, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Work closely with senior finance and operational teams to develop robust financial models, forecasts, and scenario analysis.
  • KPI Development: Design and monitor key performance metrics to assess business health and operational efficiency.
  • Commercial Insights: Provide actionable insights to senior management to optimize revenue, margins, and cost efficiency across the retail portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with private equity investors, finance teams, and operational leads to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting, automation, and data visualization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • ACA, CFA, or CIMA qualification (preferred).
  • Strong financial modelling skills and proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and accounting/ERP systems. Exposure to M&A or investment analysis is highly desirable.
  • A data-driven problem solver with excellent attention to detail and a strong commercial understanding.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights for senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, results-driven approach, comfortable working in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in investment banking or private equity or, 2 years FP&A/transaction services/FDD experience
