The Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to support a high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS business (£65m revenue) through a pre-acquisition professionalisation process. This role is critical in ensuring the finance function is prepared for due diligence and investment scrutiny while implementing robust financial controls and reporting structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the pre-acquisition financial professionalisation process, ensuring all financial reporting, controls, and systems are investor-ready.
- Improve financial governance and compliance to align with PE expectations.
- Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Strengthen cash flow management, forecasting, and working capital efficiency.
- Enhance financial controls, policies, and procedures to improve transparency and accountability.
- Support due diligence by preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and key investor reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, commercial, and operational teams to drive improvements.
- Implement reporting enhancements, ensuring clear visibility on performance drivers.
Key Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a private equity-backed environment, preferably within a high-growth SaaS business.
- Strong technical expertise in financial reporting, controls, and professionalisation of finance functions.
- Experience preparing businesses for investment, acquisition, or exit.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, change-driven environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
