A private equity-backed hospitality business is looking for an immediately available Interim Financial Controller to lead financial operations through a key period of growth and change. This 3–6 month assignment, outside IR35, offers a hands-on leadership role with full ownership of financial control, reporting, and commercial insight across a multisite, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting
- Oversee month-end close, produce management accounts, and deliver board-level reporting
- Manage year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
- Improve and standardise internal controls and financial processes across the estate
- Partner with operational teams to support site-level performance monitoring and cost efficiency
- Deliver budgeting, forecasting, and private equity reporting in collaboration with the CFO
- Lead, mentor, and support a small finance team
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), ideally with a Big 4 or strong industry background
- Significant experience in a Financial Controller role within PE-backed hospitality, leisure, or retail businesses
- Strong understanding of financial controls, cashflow, and operational finance in a multisite environment
- Able to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth setting and influence at both site and board level
- Experience in PE-style reporting, board pack preparation, and commercial insight delivery
