We are working with a high-growth, PE-backed business in the built environment and infrastructure services sector with a turnover of c.£100m, seeking an Interim Financial Controller to lead a major system implementation project (NetSuite) alongside maintaining robust financial control and reporting.

This is a key role for the business during a period of transformation, balancing the day-to-day finance leadership with the design, rollout, and embedding of a new ERP platform to enhance efficiency, insight, and scalability.

You will work closely with the CFO, finance team, and implementation partners to ensure a smooth transition, maintaining continuity in reporting and compliance while driving process improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end implementation of NetSuite, from scoping and design through to testing, training, and go-live

Maintain strong financial control and oversee all aspects of month-end, reporting, and statutory compliance during the transition period

Identify and streamline inefficient processes, improving accuracy, speed, and visibility across the finance function

Partner with external consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure system configuration aligns with business requirements

Support change management across finance and operations to embed best practice and data discipline

Manage and mentor the finance team through the transition, providing guidance and stability

Report regularly to the CFO and Board on implementation progress, key risks, and mitigation plans

Requirements

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong background in financial control

Proven experience leading or supporting a finance system implementation (ideally NetSuite)

Demonstrable experience in a PE-backed or fast-growing multi-entity business

Excellent technical accounting and financial reporting skills
