Company Overview
Finatal is working with a well-known, PE-backed SaaS business in the data analytics industry, with a turnover of $50M. This dynamic and fast-growing company is focused on transforming pharmaceutical data through innovative analytics solutions. As the company continues to scale, they are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller (FC) to join their leadership team and drive improvements in financial processes, reporting, and cash flow management.
The Role
Reporting to the Interim CFO and working closely with the FP&A team, the Interim FC will play a critical role in professionalising the finance function, improving the quality of financial reporting, and managing key relationships with banks and investors. You’ll be responsible for driving efficiency in financial processes and delivering high-quality management information (MI) reporting to senior stakeholders, including the board of directors, C-suite, and investors.
This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment and has the technical expertise to quickly add value.
Key Responsibilities
Professionalise Financial Processes & Reporting:
- Oversee the improvement of financial processes, ensuring a more efficient and structured month-end and quarter-end close.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, in compliance with required standards.
Collaborate on Cash Flow Forecasting:
- Work closely with the interim FP&A consultant to manage the 13-week cash flow forecasting model, ensuring robust cash flow management and reporting.
Manage Banking Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, ensuring timely delivery of financial information and compliance with lending agreements.
- Manage banking covenant reporting.
Develop MI Reporting for Senior Stakeholders:
- Lead the development of high-quality MI reporting, delivering actionable insights to the board of directors, C-suite, and senior investors.
- Create and present clear financial dashboards and KPIs to enable data-driven decision-making.
Present Financial Data to Senior Stakeholders:
- Confidently present financial reports and insights to senior stakeholders, translating complex financial data into strategic business insights.
- Liaise regularly with the board, investors, and C-suite to ensure alignment on financial performance and company objectives.
Key Requirements
- Finance qualified (ACA or ACCA or CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven track record in financial control, ideally within a PE-backed SaaS or tech business. Experience in pharma analytics or related sectors is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience producing and presenting MI reports to senior stakeholders. Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
- Previous experience in a private equity-backed company is essential. You must understand the urgency and performance expectations typical of a PE environment.
