Finatal is currently supporting a large-scale, international infrastructure business backed by a leading private equity investor. With a significant global footprint and a growing pipeline of M&A activity, the business is entering a critical phase of scale and transformation. We are now looking to appoint a high-calibre Interim Group Financial Controller to support the CFO and executive leadership team during this key period.
Role Overview
Working closely with the CFO, you will take full ownership of the group reporting and financial control environment across a complex, multi-entity structure. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality consolidated reporting, managing the month-end and year-end processes, and ensuring audit and compliance requirements are met across the group. In addition, you will support finance transformation initiatives, improve reporting systems and controls, and play an instrumental role in post-acquisition integration activity. This role also carries a forward-looking dimension, as the business prepares for an eventual exit event.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of group financial reporting and consolidation across multiple international entities
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including group statutory reporting and audit coordination
- Ensure robust financial control frameworks are in place across global operations
- Support finance transformation initiatives, improving reporting systems and driving process efficiency
- Integrate newly acquired international businesses into the group’s financial reporting structure
- Partner with the CFO on exit readiness planning, including investor reporting, governance improvements, and data room preparation
- Navigate the complexities of multi-currency, cross-border reporting, tax, and compliance
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA/CA/ACCA) with strong technical and commercial grounding
- Experienced interim or contractor with a proven track record in PE-backed or infrastructure/asset-heavy businesses
- Strong understanding of group consolidations, financial control frameworks, and reporting standards
- Hands-on operator able to lead teams, improve processes, and deliver under tight timelines
- M&A integration and exit preparation experience highly beneficial
- Systems-savvy – able to work across multiple platforms and help drive efficiencies
