About the Company: Finatal is working with a global education business, backed by a consortium of Tier 1 Private Equity funds. The company is going through transformative time and is a fantastic time to take on an exciting challenge. 

Role Overview: The Interim Head of Accounts Receivable will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable team (of 8), streamlining collections processes, and ensuring timely and accurate invoicing. You will work closely with senior finance leadership to drive improvements, implement best practices, and provide strategic guidance on AR processes for the company’s global operations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work with tax advisors on the changes of Government policies and how they affect AR operations. 
  • Billing customers, including contract creation, in JD Edwards, therefore JD Edwards experience would be ideal. 
  • Professionalise the team, improve on the existing debt collection and revenue recognition processes (IFRS 15). 
  • Review discounts requests and provide recommendation to Finance Director 
  • Liaising with customers/parents on all fee related queries 
  • Bad debt calculation in line with IFRS9 for management accounting purposes 
  • Managing a team of 8 
  • Key relationship building with Heads of School and Admission Officers 
  • Support Finance Director with ad hoc tasks when required 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Ambitious individual who wants career progression in a fast-growing global group 
  • Record of strong academic achievement 
  • At least 10 years working experience 
  • Effective Excel skills 
  • JD Edwards experience  
  • A self-starter with the drive, determination and commitment to get things done 
  • Can do’ attitude with a problem-solving approach to new challenges 
  • Ability to handle large data sets, work under pressure and to deadlines with the capacity to multi-task over several on-going projects 
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment 
  • Well organised, process driven and high attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • High aptitude on systems 
  • Understanding of ability to work in a PE environment in a results driven organisation
