About the Company: Finatal is working with a leading private equity-backed education business that is undergoing a significant transformation. As part of their efforts to professionalise the finance function, they are seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join their team for a 6-month project.
Role Overview: As the Interim Management Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team by providing accurate and insightful management information. Your work will help drive financial decision-making and contribute to the overall performance of the business. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, analysing financial data, and ensuring robust financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide insightful commentary on variances.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics, ensuring timely and accurate information is available for decision-making.
- Collaborate with the wider finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
- Assist with ad hoc financial projects and analysis as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant, ideally within a private equity-backed or education environment.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
