Finatal is currently partnered with a leading SaaS business, backed by a reputable midmarket private equity fund. This SaaS business is experiencing rapid growth and transformation, needing an experienced Financial Controller as the business goes through a strategic review & possible transaction.
Role Overview: As the Interim Project Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the financial management and control of key business projects, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with the company’s strategic goals. This role requires close collaboration with the CFO, project teams, and private equity stakeholders to drive financial clarity and deliver actionable insights. You will play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, and enhancing internal controls, while also preparing the company for potential exit scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Leadership: Act as the financial lead on critical projects, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and efficiency in execution.
· Private Equity Alignment: Liaise with private equity investors, preparing regular financial updates and ensuring compliance with investment guidelines.
· Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
· Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and strengthen internal controls.
· Exit Preparation: Play a key role in preparing the business for a potential exit strategy, including due diligence and financial presentation readiness.
· Team Development: Mentor and guide the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications:
· Proven track record as a Financial Controller, ideally in a private equity-backed environment.
· Strong project management and financial leadership skills, with experience managing complex initiatives.
· Deep understanding of private equity financial reporting and exit strategies.
· Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
· Proficient in financial systems, tools, and advanced Excel.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
